How do I use it?

Timestamping a lecture

When you are ready to lecture, just run Timestamper. It will notice if you run Keynote or PowerPoint and watch it. When you go into presentation mode, it will automatically record timestamps into a file next to the presentaton. The name of the file will be the same as the presentation with a ".ts" suffix.

Production notes

Once you have gone into presentation mode, Timestamper knows which presentation you are using, and will allow you to write and save notes to the producer.

Changing presentations

If you switch to a different presentation, Timestamper will notice, and will create timestamps for the new presentation along side the presentation file.

If you are running both PowerPoint and Keynote, you can select which you would like Timestamper to timestamp with the icons at the very top of its window.

Timestamping interval

Timestamper works by checking your presentation periodically to see if the slide has changed. The default interval is 2 seconds. You can set this higher or lower as you prefer. Setting this to a very small interval, say, less than half a second, is not recommended.

Cuing

To indicated that it is timestamping, Timestamper will display a cue mark in the upper right corner of the display screen when the presentation begins. Optionally, you can set the cue to appear with every timestamped slide, as well as adjust the amount of time it lingers.

If you wish to familiarize yourself or your videographer with the cue mark, you can click the "Test Visual Cue" button and the cue will appear.
